Heartland Family Service fund development campaign

Heartland Family Service has served Omaha and surrounding communities for over 100 years. While the organization has an established reputation and reliable donors, it needed to breathe new life into its brand to reach the next generation of supporters, expand the community’s awareness of its work and, ultimately, raise funds.

Getting to the “why”

When it comes to engaging donors, they care about what you do and how you do it, but they’re especially interested in the why.

Why should I support this organization? Why should I care? Why do you do what you do?

For Heartland Family Service, this was an excellent approach. The organization has so many evolving services available to help its clients that it’s almost impossible to simply say what they do. But there’s one reason why they do it.

At Heartland Family Service, we help many people walk many paths. But our network of services, programs, advocacy and support share a common goal: breaking cycles of barriers

so everyone can.

Can what?

We knew this question would come up, and we loved that it encouraged speculation and conversation.

The wonderful thing about leaving “can” undefined is that it lets clients who are seeking help, not donors or Heartland Family Service, define their success, and it invites everyone to imagine what our community would look like if everyone had the support they needed to do anything.

We wanted donors to envision this community of opportunity and support Heartland Family Service to make it a reality.

Since the campaign’s launch, Heartland Family Service has evolved their vision statement to include “so everyone can.”
